Round 6 of the Summer Champs!
Held on a miserable Sunday
morning at Daytona Sandown Park....
Although dry at the off earler rain ahd made
the Daytona track treacherous.
A succession of yellow flags and a spin
meant that Adrian didnt set any sort of a competitive lap in
qualification.
Starting at the back of the grid is never
good, especially when the other 29 drivers are also competing in the
final session of the Championship. Although fun it was never going to
be a classic race for the team.
As the race went on a drying track didnt actually help matters that
much with expected understeer becoming snap oversteer on the odd patch
where soem traction could be gained! The most iinteresting moment was
Adrian finding a Wasp in his helmet with about 40 laps run!
The final few laps did allow some cleaner racing, but it was far to
late in the day. A nominal personal best of 54.51 seconds on a damp
track just added a hinge of solace.
Onto the Winter Champs then!
