a d20 sprint under lights!Fresh on the trackl

Being unavailable for the start of the D60 Winter Champs Adrian decided to try something a bit new, heading to the track on a very crisp November evening to race in a D20 sprint under floodlights.

Firstly Adrian had a crack at a 20 minute arrive and drive, just to get his eye back in on the Daytona grand prix circuit. This went well, if  conditions were a bit chilly in the evening air. The firework show that was going on in the background did make up for this though!

Next on to the race. It was a fairly sparse field on the track on a Monday night in November! Qualification went as expected with a third place on the grid, although an early spin on cold tyres did wake Adrian up!  Prior to the off Adrian hoped that he might just sneak a podium, but this was not to be. Against younger, and in karting terms far more importantly lighter, opposition he was unable to keep up till the end, finishing fourth.

Once more Adrian managed to post a personal best for this layout of 52.994,  a full second down of his previous best. More marked was the continuing growth in conistency with an average lap time of 54.057, again over a second down on his previous race on the GP circuit.

It is expected that normal service in the D60 Winter Championships will be resumed for our next outing at the track which is  planned for January. More then!
